Currently the Master of Engineering Program has 2 tracks, dictated by present market needs and by the strategy elaborated by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology :
- Telecommunication Networks: The Telecom industry is known to be the largest employer and fastest growing sector of the ICT industry. It is fostered by a large number of broadband and mobility and location based services. The Telecom Networks track was chosen to address the needs of this sector which includes telecom operators, equipment manufacturers, and governmental institutions.
- Embedded Systems: chosen to respond to the demand for highly qualified engineers in this discipline that permeates a large variety of fields such as telecommunications, automotive electronics, consumer electronics, biomedical systems, robotics … etc. The development of this field has been recently fueled by the installation of a number of large, actively recruiting, multinational firms (eg Valeo, Samsung, Mento Graphics …).
Future expansions include a VLSI and MEMS Design track, whgich fills a gap in traditional M.Sc. Programs by offering a curriculum covering simultaneously Electronic and Software Engineering. It caters for the demand of established firms (eg Intel, Mentor Graphics, …) and fosters the dynamics of start-up creation in this field.
